Welcome to my blog

While this is a fairly new blog site, I am most certainly not new to blogging. My first regular blog was for Chip Design Magazine over 3 years ago. There I made regular contributions, some of which stirred up the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry. This is the industry that makes software tools that enable all electronic systems to be designed, verified and implemented, be it in a chip, on a board or part of a system. I have worked in this field almost my entire life, which is almost as long as the industry has existed. I was one of the founding bloggers on techbites.com, a site that tried to stir up the industry by providing completely interactive, unedited news and opinion feeds. Unfortunately, this venture did not take off as had been expected. I am now the editor for the EETimes EDA Designline and a contributing editor for EDN. So why do I want yet another blog site? First and foremost, there are times when I want to write about something that does not quite fit into the blogs I have on the other sites. I don’t want those thoughts to go to waste. Primarily, I want to blog about things outside of the industry. I like to hike around the beautiful paradise called the Pacific Northwest and wherever I go, my camera goes with me. I want to be able to talk about both of those subjects as well, and to share my experiences and my life with my friends, and anyone else who may find my site to be of interest.
